    Hauling empty boat trailer

I just recently ordered a new trailer and will be traveling about 300 miles to pick it up. I will not be taking my boat. Will the trailer (brakes on both axles) be good to haul home as is, or should I deflate the tires some and/or figure out a way to add some weight? Also, should I use the brake lock-out while traveling home with the empty trailer? Thanks in advance!

Assuming surge brakes, it will be fine.

It's been a while but I ordered a new tow dolly for a motorhome we used to own. I picked it up from the manufacturer on the way home from a trip we were taking. I drug it over 700 miles. I was advised to drop the air pressure in the tires to 15 pounds. It towed pretty well. I would ask the manufacturer for their recommendations. I bet they have some experience with the issue.

I would drop psi down a bunch and i would run a couple ratchet straps to hold the bunks down. May take 6 or more. If bunks are brand new an fresh i think they would make it home but i would check them for tightness and or stripped when home
