Looking for experiences with the Daiwa Tatula Elite Glass Cranking Rod 7' M/H

Thinking about replacing my Dobyns 706cb with the tatula elite glass, the Takahiro Omori model with a 1/2-2oz lure rating. I mainly use the dobyns for chatterbaits, medium size cranks, and smaller hard swimbaits in the 1/2-1-1/2oz range. My main concern is how the daiwa will handle lures right at the low end of it's range like 1/2oz squarebills and 1/2oz chatterbaits. Any info from owners appreciated.

It handles the 1/2 oz lures fine. I like it for tossing 1/2 oz spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and squarebills in and around cover. In my opinion the rod is tip heavy but doesn’t bother me too much since the rod tip points down to the water. They’re on clearance at some online shops and are a good buy.

I use mine exclusively for square bills and love it. The tip is heavy feeling but it balances out well enough and does a great job casting and keeping fish on.

Thanks guys, have either of you tested the upper limit of it’s weight range?

Heaviest I’ve used so far was the 1oz Hybrid Hunter. No issues. Never tried anything in the 2oz range.

I haven’t. I’m generally throwing 1.5s on it so it hasn’t had anything heavier than that on it.
