Waypoint sharing with phone on OBN app?

New to having Humminbirds, Lowrance synced waypoints automatically between the app on my phone and the unit. It doesn’t seem like you can do this with HB. Am I missing something on how to get waypoints from the one boat network phone app to my Apex?

Download the One-Boat Network App Operations Guide. There is a section in it for downloading Waypoints.

The post question was about downloading waypoints from the One-Boat Network phone app to a graph... not the other way.

The question was really why can’t my app sync with my head unit. A big opportunity missed with this “app”. Synch implies going both ways.

I agree, but I am not sure how much of a problem it is. If you could have the exact copy(including waypoints) on a phone or even a tablet I don’t think it benefits for planning the next trip. Even if you wish to use your phone or a tablet for the actual navigation it would require one that is waterproof, very bright and able to function in the heat summer. I like to have a large screen to do planning at home and be able to map out a few spots to check out the next time out. Wifi or even Bluetooth should be available to do it. After all HB has included both in units for years.
HB always has good ideas, but apparently needs a better staff to implement them. Bring back a version of Contour Elite for planning!
Note: Navionics Sync (plotter sync)is part of the menus on HB units! A Humminbird Sync should be able to do similar things(it includes all Nav Data)on WiFi for other units (Ray Marine for one)

I'm definitely ready for them to start using the WiFi capability they have built into the last couple of generations of Helix/Solix/Apex!

I will say it is far from useless. If nothing else it gives you the opportunity to look at all the details of all the maps and features so you can decide which chip to buy. Lacking in the past, now there is no need to guess what you want. Moving waypoints could be made easier, but there is enough capability to do that with a few changes in software. Some may only want/need the 30 day free trial to do that. I think the mapping on the app (because of the VX clear contours at zoomed in ranges) allows for picking out spot on a spot area and easily transfer a few new spots to check out.
My whining is to make it more useful, not knock it down. Bob

The unit update capability will definitely be a good feature of the app going forward. It's architected differently than the FishSmart app so that there is no more risk of "bricking" your unit with the One-Boat Network App update than there is with a normal SD card update from computer download.

I also like having the full VX mapping on my phone to look/plan fishing trips without having to be at my Apex.

Agree 1000%. So much they could have done. Major missed opportunity. And I doubt it will get any better based on past experience.

I'll also agree it isn't much better than FishSmart, IMO. Coming from Garmin, and using ActiveCaptain, I was hoping for something similar to that. I love my birds, and don't want to switch, but would really love some additional functionality.
