    Multi-piece tarpon spinning rod

Please recommend a multi-piece travel spinning rod ~ $150 range or less that can handle small to medium tarpon. A shorter length than 7'6" would be nice as there is a bit of mangroves and tight spots in this Caribbean land locked fresh water lake.

Most tarpon will be in the 15-30 lb class with a few in the 50-60.

    Thanks in advance.

Idk what you're calling medium tarpon, 36-40" ? A medium heavy freshwater spinning rod will do it. 2500 daiwa or 3000 shimano w/15 /b braid, will work.
I saw three on tackle warehouse, that I would go with. A Okuma Cerros 2 piece medium heavy , Shimano Clarus 2 piece medium heavy and a St Croix mojo 2 piece medium heavy.

A freshwater medium heavy is equivalent to a medium power inshore rod. It can easily whip a tarpon with the right leader. How heavy of leader you can get them to bite is the key.
If they will only hit 20 lb leader than it gets risky , if they will hit 30 lb leader ,consider it a caught fish. I only use Ande monofilament leader material , fluoro sinks too fast.
