    Ranger Z518

Found a Ranger Z518 that I may buy. Do you like yours? Getting it with the tandem axle and 200 pro xs.

Yup, I have a 2015 Z518c with 200 pro XS. I do fish some larger lakes here in the north, 40,000 acres. There are times when an extra foot or two would be nice to span the big waves, but all and all it's a great platform. Not a rocket, but 64 mph with a good load isn't too bad.

I love my Z518. Has a 200 on it. Wide up front. Great fishing platform. Lots of storage and plenty fast enough.

I have a 2022 Z518. Great boat. The 200 ads that extra power. Good ride. Big waves you'll notice. Good Storage. The tandem rides real nice. Harder to put in the garage with tandem, doesn't like to turn. It will go over 60 mph.

I had a 2016, 518 Intercoastal, 200 Optimax, and I sure do miss it. I hit over 75 a couple of times. Great ride, fast, lots of storage, overall just a great boat.

Do you wish you had something a foot longer in the 19’ 10” range?

also do any of you have power poles? Curious to see how your pumps are arranged.

I have a 2012 z518, 200 Pro XS. I have a single axle trailer. At times I wished I had a dual axle trailer. Front deck is nice. Plenty of storage. It is a hot rod. Lol. It runs 70. When I go to Lake Erie, 20 ft. would be nice.

I bought my 2022 z518 last October. I’ve had it out 3 times now and I’m still breaking in the motor. It’s an awesome ride and goes 64.5 mph so far and I do not have a jackplate. Betting it will go a bit faster after 20 hours when you do your first oil change. The speed is fine but what I really love is the torque and holeshot. It JUMPS on plane. I have the 200 PROXS 4s and a single axle trailer. Adding a TrickStep later this week. Now if we could just lose the stupid snow and cold soon!

Do you guys regret not getting something that’s a foot longer? Garage space is my issue.

I moved from a 19ft sprint to a 18trx triton now a 2019 518L.. Yes, everyone wishes they had a 20ft bass boat, but wishes come with a hefty price tag. The 518L is a good boat for the money. You can get a fairly new if not brand new 518 for the price of a used 520 or 519... My 518 goes 60-64 with a dual console tournament load and partner. Which is perfect for me, the front deck is nice and wide, but riding in rough water takes a little time where as the 520 would cut right through it. It depends on how you fish and how fat your wallet is... If you have a fat wallet, get the 520, if its slim like mine, get the 518 and you will be happy. BUT YOU WILL ALWAYS WISH YOU HAD GOTTEN BIGGER....

Longer wasn’t an option for me due to garage space. But I’m not constantly wishing I had a bigger boat if that’s your question. However, if I had the space I probably would have gotten a 519.

I think this sums it up well. I fish big water so my last boat purchase went from a 19’10” to a 21. I have never ran into an issue of my boat being too big. I would say take an honest look at your needs, look at your wants too. End of the day it’s a lot of money and you want to be happy with your purchase. Sucks to drop a lot of money and not be happy. Garage space is a bugger too. With my 19 I had some room to spare and it was nice. My 21 fits with only 1” to spare shutting the door. I liked having an easier fit but not as much as I like the bigger boat lol. 0 regrets here, but it made sense for me with the water I’m on often.

I've got a 2016 Z518C with the 200 Pro XS 2 stroke. I would have loved to go with a 520, but didn't have the wallet for it. Overall I love the boat though fishes big for the size and although I can't run wide open in every condition imaginable, I came from a smaller boat so I'm used to that. The only small gripes I've had about mine is the center locker despite there being room to use as a tackle storage and keeping a few "plan B" rods on top for quick access, the rod holder in the back doesn't extend high enough to do so. The C boats also have the wasted space in the step to the front deck that they changed on the "L" version to make an additional compartment. I currently have a Power Pole and the pump is mounted under the splashwell cover. There's room to mount 2 back there, but I'm thinking of relocating them to the center section of the rear compartment to make them easier to access.

I don't have pictures of mine, but mine are mounted under the removable plate in the splashwell. Planning to move them similar to the post above.
