Difference in handling with 4 stroke.

I went from a 300x to a 250 4 stroke and noticed a difference in the way the boat handles. With the 300x I could let off the throttle at speed and the boat would settle. With the 250 the boat wants to hook left. I thought maybe it was the difference in the lower unit design. The boat doesn’t seem as stable with the 250. Also with the 250 I get a good bit of back wash when shutting down that I didn’t get with the 300x. I’m thinking that is due to extra weight of the 250 and extra weight of the AGM battery. This is my 3rd G. and it doesn’t handle near as good as it did with the 300. Anyone else notice a difference going from a efi or pro xs to a 4 stroke?

The old 2.5 sports master had a ratcheting lower unit - prop could/would rotate when shutting down. Perhaps... the 300x had the same? I know when I went from the 2.5L 225 ProMax w/TM to a 3.0L 225 ProXS w/TM shutting down was a whole new ballgame. The 3.0L TM does not ratchet/rotate.

Also, try replacing your trolling batteries to Lithium. It made a difference on my 2100 with back wash. I'm running a 250 opti max.
