I pulled the lower unit and replaced the water pump on my 2015 250 ETEC. What is the secret to reinstall the lower unit. I can get the lower unit back on without the water tube. But when I reinstall the water tube it will not go all the way up. The tube will not even go into the water pump unless you force it. I am starting to think I have the wrong parts. Any help would be appreciated.
Need the engine model number. Very important in this case. Evinrude stopped using model years in 2012.
What part number water pump did you use?
Model number is E250HGLABB. the water pump part number I ordered was 5001595.
The part number is for a 3.3 liter engine
you have a 3.4 liter HO 250

Reuse the old water tube
i ordered the new kit.. Thanks..
The kit is the same, except the receiver for your motor accepts the 5/8'' tube. The one you have takes a 1/2'' tube. When you get the new kit just swap the tube receiver piece.
3.3L is 1/2'' and the part used to be black. 3.4L is 5/8'' and the part used to be a opaque color.
