    Oh No the doctor just ordered a 300R

    Ordered a 300R. Can't wait to see what I can get out of a 4 stroke.

    You'll love it. Just remember prop selection is TOTALLY different in many cases.

    I've found the V8's like bigger diameter 4 blades like the Bravo FS/XS, and 5 blade props if you're running a sportmaster.

    That's been circulated a lot, but according to Mercury, it's not accurate (512 applies to the LIGHTEST model in that HP class).

    James... if you put 45 lbs of oil in your engine, you're going to end up with a "wait" problem (not a weight problem).

    Most oils are about 7 lb / gallon. So if you had a total of 2 gallons between engine and gear oil, about 14 lbs. I believe I saw a post from Wildman at Liberator boats in FL who weighed a 300R and said it was around 550 lb with the prop, oil, cowl and ready to go. Not sure what the exact model of 300R that was and with which mid-section but it would have had a Sportsmaster lower.
