    Loading problem

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the last two times at the lake my bow eye was below the winch strap/bow stop. The ramp has been a lot steeper with the lake being down. Am I too far back or too far forward? Where do most ppl have their bunks for a Ranger 520C BTW? Thanks

Sounds like you’re too far in the water with the trailer. The back of the boat is floating and keeping eye down. Pull forward a bit so the back comes down onto the trailer and you should be good. Makes and models differ so I hesitate to tell you where to start at. As you’re noticing it can vary though depending on how deep the launch is.

On a bunk trailer the boat needs to be sitting just like it is when it's fully trailered when it gets to the winch stand. If the trailer is tilted on the ramp, the boat has to be tilted at the same angle. When the stern is still floating, that can't happen. Problem is worse on steeper ramps.

Usually it means you're too far in the water.

Agree that your trailer is too far down the ramp. If you launch from the same ramp regularly, take note of how much of your fender is above the water line when launching and when putting your boat back on the trailer. When I launch, the top of my fenders are right at the water line so that driving it off the trailer is easy. When I am putting my boat back on the trailer, the top of my fenders are about 2" above the water line and I drive it on.

Agree with above, make mental note. I use my center bunks as a gauge, but that or fender will get you close.

My rig sits just like yours. I can watch left fender in outside mirror and stop just right for easy launch and retrieve.

Isn't the bow eye suppose to be below the bow stop?

Been that way on every boat n trailer I've owned.

Wow you know what, you are right. When I read his post all I thought about was when I had troubles at first was the nose not getting over the roller. I just saw bow, loading issues and connected the wrong dots. I never thought thru what he actually typed. I feel stupid and am very sorry for not paying attention and giving wrong advice. Really good catch

I back in at most ramps so I have about 2” of fender sticking out of the water.
