1/8oz buzzbait with swim bait trailer

I have seen quite a few fishing shows where a 1/8oz buzz bait was used, no skirt, but instead a swim bait body placed on the back. I have tried doing this but there has to be something specific about the swim bait used because of the few that I have tried it was causing the buzz bait to either track badly or off to one side. Is there a specific type of swim bait that needs to be used or ?

I do that with a fluke jr but you have to have it on dead straight or it'll track funny with that little blade.

I use a Z-man Baby goat rigged vertical or a 3.5 inch Jerky-J but I usually thin the skirt and leave it on it too.

if I’m goin down on to 1/8 size I really like the Picasso buzzsaw jr. It’s a very robust double buzz with small blades. I pull the skirts and run swimmin fluke jrs. It’s a great compact bait and cast awesome for its size
