    Prop selection help

I have an Xpress x19 pro with 200 sho. I've tried a few props and I still would like to dial it in a little better.
It was set up at 3.5" PtP when I bought it. After reading some I have raised it to 2.25" PtP. I'm not getting the speeds I should be getting.
I've tried a few props and they all basically run between 60 and 62 mph. I just noticed that my hotfoot was not adjusted properly (it was overturning the throttle) so I might get a little more speed out of it when I try it again.

    The question I have is:
At 3/4 trim on the gauge is where it consistently drives the best. After that, the steering gets tight and it chine walks. At the 3/4 trim mark I am around 5000 rpm. When I trim it all the way (on the gauge) it is closer 6000 rpm but it drives terrible.
Will reducing the PtP help with the driving or do I need to prop it to get 6000 rpm at 3/4 trim (on the gauge)?

    Props at 3.5" PtP
24 tempest 62 mph 6200 rpm trimmed all the way
25 Fury 60 mph 5900 rpm trimmed all the way up
25 powertech 62 mph 5700 rpm trimmed all the way up

The SHO likes larger diameter props... Test a 25T1 if you can.

I see a lot of Xpress guys say they use the Bravo XS.

Did you have a 200 SHO? What pitch?

    Thanks

I had a 250 SHO on a lake and bay backwater. 25" pitch. I'd put a Nizpro tune on your boat. You want to prop it to around 5800-6000. Try a larger diameter 4 blade like a Bravo FS or XS. They can be run higher and are more stable.

If you can’t find a Yamaha prop I have found the scorpions to work well as replacements. Just have to go down a pitch or two from the norm. And as suggested above an ECU flash would certainly add some MPH.

I have a 24p Scorpion and it is the better of the props I have tried.
My boat drives real good at just over 3/4 trim on the gauge. At 3/4 trim that Scorpion is only turning about 5000 rpms. It only turns around 5700 trimmed all the way up. There is only about 1.5 mph difference in 3/4 and full trim.

    It's a 99% Bravo1 XS style propeller.

Yes, they run stiffer than a Bravo, I never tried one though.

I have run so many props on my 2018 X19 200 SHO, I’ve lost count. I’ve kept 2 of them. 24p VMAX SHO and a 25p Bravo XS with all holes plugged. The SHO is about 1 mph faster on the top end but the Bravo is better everywhere else so it stays on my boat.
