I heard somebody complaining at the ramp Saturday that said it was 12k for a new one now, but I have no idea if that is accurate or not. Just going off what he said.

Just replaced my 250 PROXS powerhead last winter was about 13K i think all in with labor, that was for a new block from Mercury. I was considering a new 4 stroke but that was going to be 25K and a year plus wait!

no. It would be like replacing the electric motor in the EV not the fuel.

I did one about a year ago and the remaned powerhead from Mercury was roughly $9k. If you're going to do any type replacement I recommend you either do a dressed head or replace your compressor and have the fuel rails cleaned and flow tested by a reputable company, Integrity Injection (Don Weed) would be one of the best. I replaced mine in April of 2022 and the reman dropped a cylinder in August 2022. The dealer did not do anything other than replace the injector on the original failed cylinder which was number 2. On the remaned powerhead, the #5 cylinder dropped. I'm certain it was injector failure and I've learned since this happened that the procedure should be to clean and flow test all injectors. Expensive lesson. Motor was flawless for 7 years but the past year was one set of frustrations after another. Speaking from experience, I'd pay the money for a new 4 stroke and leave the ProXS alone.

Yeah, because that's why you said it. No motive whatsoever.

It would be like if I came in and said, "so same cost as a new roof on my shop?
