OK, so my boat came with poles mounted on a 6" Slidemaster jackplate. There is a lot of room to adjust the height both on jackplate and pole mounts. What is the rule of thumb for mounting height? This is on a '03 Basscat Cougar.

slide bracket all the way up then down 1" this seems to optimum and how we do all of our installs.
Appreciate the response. Mine seems to be at the mid section. I was trying to make sure it isn't interfering with boat performance.
