Looking to get back to playing

I have went back and forth over the years playing golf.
I do enjoy it but fishing always took a top priority over really anything hobby wise for me.
Im starting to get a tad burnt out on the fishing thing and it is tough for me as the lake is 3 hours away that we normally go to and the closest lake is 2 hours from home.
We have a 18 hole course right in town that is a pretty nice public course.
So I have been thinking about getting back into it jsut to get out and do something and have fun.
My question for you all is in your opinion should I look for a cheap compleate starter set or try and go on some of the "used" type websites and put a decent set together of a name brand that are all used.

I'd go the used route. Technology from 5 years ago is still so close to what's out there now so you can save some money on brand name stuff.
