    Stupid Question......

Bought a 1998 Hydrasport with a 1998 150 fast strike... or so I thought. turns out its just a 150 Fast strike cowl. The Model# is J175 GLEIS. Quick google search comes out to a 91 175. My question is, is it a Fast Strike model still or not? Or does it even matter?

I had a 1991 175 FS. If it is still all 1991 original, it is one stout engine....

OMC introduced the FS/Intruder 150-175 in 1991. Mercury was getting beat up pretty bad then by them because they actually made more than advertised HP. Somewhere in 1992 they where de-tuned to bring em back closer to rated HP to please Mercury. LOL

It's definitely a stouter rig than my old 98 fast strike.
