    4 Stroke Oil Question

It is ok to use 4 stroke outboard Pennzoil 10w-30 synthetic blend in my 250R? I can order mercury oil, just can't get it locally, but i can get Pennzoil locally is why I'm asking. Thanks!

Someone asked this question in the merc 4 stroke forum & Don said it meets the minimum requirements.

I was reading some of 540 Rats independent oil testing where he tested nearly 300 motor oils for wear resistance. I was surprised that the semi synthetic 10W-30 mercury 4 stroke oil was rated #8 out of about 300 oils and nearly half of those tested were 100% synthetic motor oils. They tested 6 marine 4 stroke oils and the 10W-30 mercury semi-synthetic was the top rated marine oil by far, it even tested better than the Amsoil 10W-30 fully synthetic marine oil. So you might be getting what you pay for!
