Had a water separator/ fuel filter system put in my boat, am not happy about it as it is 25 microns were as my last boat was 10 micron system, can I just replace Merc filter with a 10 micron filter or a Yamaha filter? This is for a 2004 Opti 115.

water Seperators or other filters inline between tank and engine are not recommended for these engines , serial number needed for more info please

NO additional filters should be added as they can introduce a fuel supply restriction.
