    Z519 Lithium Batteries

Recently installed my new Ionic 125ah cranking battery in my 2019 Z519. Already had 3x 50ah Ionics in. I have the 125ah and one 50ah on Starboard side and the remaining 2 50ah on the port side. Originally wanted to install all 3 50ah on one side but would not fit with the mount I had ordered.

Holeshot has greatly improved, didn't have a chance to test top end speed with the 125ah added on.

All batteries charge no issue using the Dualpro PS4 charger that came with the boat from the factory.

did you play with engine height and move weight around?

Yes had a hydraulic plate....moved as much weight to the back as I could but still lost speed. Was going to change props but sold boat.

Didn't get to test top end after installing the cranking battery. Before with a 31 AGM for cranking and the 3x 50ah lithiums my top end was around 70-71mph. I'm only getting like 6k rpm WOT so I think I can adjust jack plate to get a little more RPM and top end out of it but haven't had time to mess with that yet. I'm happy with the performance.

Hole shot and handling improved greatly after switching to the 50ah for trolling motor. Felt like my holeshot was better with the 125ah lithium on my first trip out. 1 other person, and live wells full, and 1/2 tank and it felt better than with the AGM

You didn't have to send it back to get it configured for lithium?

they say you need to lower engine some when going all lithium on batteries--fixed or hyd plate?

Nope. Everything worked and the batteries get to full charge and have no issues.

Fixed. I need to do some adjusting there to see what kind of difference it makes especially now after the 31agm has been replaced. Want to run it one more time and see what top end looks like before adjusting. I didn't notice any change in top end speed when first switching to the 3x 50ah batteries.

Great to hear that, thanks. I have a Dual Pro PS4 too. I thought it needed to be sent back to reconfigured so thanks for confirming

most people say you don’t really pick up top in just a better holeshot

I had read that somewhere too. I reached out to ionic before purchasing and they said the charger should work. I think I also read that somewhere around 2017/2018 is when the Dualpro chargers changed that allowed them to adapt to lithium batteries.

I just last weekend installed Ionics, 3-50 ah (Ghost TM) and 1-125ah (dedicated to electronics) batteries in my '22 Z519. I left the group 31 AGM in place for cranking, pumps, and lights. I replaced my factory installed Dual Pro Charger PS3 with (2) NOCO Genius primarily because I needed 5 banks. Hole shot definitely improved. Have yet to work on dialing in top speed (prop, plate height, weight dist., etc.) as the Merc has just received the 20 hr service.

I have a ‘17 z520c and I had to send in my Provolt
quad to be reprogrammed. When they sent it back
it had a Lithium sticker on it. I called them and they
said that it was not Lithium compatible.
