    A-Rig favorite?

I started throwing an A-rig again. The ones that I own are several years old. I understand they have been improved. What is your favorite A-rig and what length/action rod do you prefer (I am not fishing deep open water and I fish around cover)?

I like the hawg farmer as well as the g funks. Both seem to be durable to me. I’ve had the wires break on the yumbrellas so I tend to stay away from those. I’m sure somebody will be along to tell you they catch fish too though. To each their own.

I buy the cheap knock-off 4 packs off Amazon. They catch plenty of fish and seem to be durable enough.

Hawg Farmer sells quite a selection of A-rigs. Do you have one or two that you prefer? I figure you are throwing some of these on SML and I just last year began to throw an A-rig (with some success in early March) last year and need some new ones. Thanks in advance.

Hawg Farmer and Yumbrella. The Pike up here like them as well and have caught some very large pike on them without either breaking them. Once in the net is when they usually bend the wires up as they roll.

I like the Hogfarmer Mop rig, and hitchhiker rigs. And the basic 5 wire depending on if I want to be more subtle. Also, I typically get rid of the snaps and just hook the head directly to the split rings. Less chance of coming loose and a lot less change of tangling amongst themselves. Also, depending on the head type, sometimes they will flip up and stick themselves within the snap and not run right. Straight to the split ring fixes all that.

Shanes Baits - Blades of Glory is probably the standard rig around here

Hog Farmer. 5 wire, 8 blade. Since I’m in TN, 3 hooks on bottom, two dummies on top.

The bladed Picasso Bait Ball Plus is my favorite. I'm smashing the fish on them right now out here in California!
