I never learned how to post pictures yet, but could try to message someone.
I ordered the vinyl tubing from one of my suppliers, I will check to see if it is still available.

I did the airline tubing like BalsaBee. I bought it at my local NAPA. Looks great and glad I did it BUT.....the rub rail will not be able to handle impacts as well as when the rope was in it since the tubing is hollow and the rope is alot denser and solid.
saw "TACO vinyl rub rail insert " available on Amazon.
1/2" round vinyl is what worked for me, been in there for about 9 years no problems.
I have not yet given it the "impact test" still looks great, sure is nice not getting poked in the belly by loose rope fibers leaning up against it.

What role does the rope play? Is it needed?
"heard it in a love song.........can't be wrong"
Rope/tubing insert will cover the screws used for installing the rubrail.
Rope was used by many factories years ago.

Nelson here,
I didn't like the cleats sticking out snagging the boat cover when pulling it off.
I couldn't find a small flush cleat to use in the recessed locations.
Those are inexpensive copies of an Ancra type tie down. I have the quick clip fittings pre-tied to a 25, a 35, and a couple of 10 foot dock ropes if needed. Very quick and easy with out tying and un tying.
I'm not sure what color blue that is, I'd like to get a bit of it to fix a couple of little chips, so if anyone has some please let me know what you have!
Thanks , Nelson
