    Mercury 90ELPTO and lithium starting

Recently picked up a 185pt bass tracker with a 90 ELPTO and i'm thinking about getting an ionic 125 amp starting battery for it. I'm using one in my stroker with a 300X and have been very happy with it. Anyone using one on the 90 and below 2 stroke mercs with a stator charging system?

By "stator" charging system are you talking about a marine alternator whereby flywheel magnets induce electricity in a coil which then feeds it to an rectifier/regulator which then charges a battery?

There should be no reason why your 90HP marine alternator should not charge a lithium battery. Just going to take a while since the motor does not have much of an output.

I have the 125 HP ELPTO and have been running lithium for 2 years without issue.

I'm running lithium with my 50 horse Merc. (Ionic 125) It's not supported by Mercury, but works great.
