No Ice on the Hudson or Creeks; Rondout & Saugerties

Since there is any ice on any of the water locally (that may change this weekend), has anyone had their boats out fishing?

These are the regulations for the Hudson River...

Black Bass: June 15 through November 30, Minimum Length 15", Daily Limit 5. Fishing for black bass (including catch and release) is prohibited outside of the open season.
American Shad, Fishing for or possession prohibited

That does not make sense because Striper season runs before that and I have caught largemouth and smallmouth fishing for stripers early May.

You can’t target largemouth smallmouth bass. You can fish legally if targeting other species that are in season

Exactly. Just say you are fishing for walleye as you toss your jig into a brush pile.
