I still have and use mine that I bought in about '84 or '85. Same cup and stopper. One of the best buys I've made.

Love my Stanley. Way better than a Yeti I tried for a while.

I had a similar experience. Had an Eddie Bauer edition Stanley green thermos that didn't keep my coffee hot. Used it once or twice and put it in a cabinet. Several years late I contacted them and they sent me a new thermos. I never sent in the old one or had pictures. I'm using the one they sent right now.

What’s it cost to replace some old thermos in comparison to the positive PR like they’re getting here. I have a Stanley that I bought in the 1980s. I don’t beat the daylights out of mine like some of you do and I expect mine should last literally forever. It’s as good as new.

In 1977 I saved up to buy one, used it dang near every day for 30 years. Either flying as a gunner/boomer or fishing on the weekends, when it finally lost its vacuum I didn’t have the hart to throw it away. I sat it on the shelf by my old helmet.

Just stuff a paper towel in the top of the stopper. That will help keep it warm and absorb any left over coffee trying to get out.

Maybe Simms will make an insulated coozie for it?

I've got two. One's newer than the other (the newer one has a built-in handle), but both are Nashville vintage. I use them both depending on whether I'm at the lake place or here at home. Both are fantastic and will serve the kids well when I'm gone.

My dad drank a many of GALLONS of coffee out of his. I should have it somewhere packed up in all his things. Great idea to go find it.

    Stanley is for nostalgia

The yeti rambler bottle is much better for actual performance, keeps coffee, soup, etc piping hot for much longer, it’s not even close.

Did the same with me and mine had been thrown in a yard hostler for 14 years. Mine hardly had any paint left, cap was cracked and glued. I thought what heck. Damned if they didn't send me a new one. Needless to if it don't say Stanley I won't buy it.

Back in the day thermoses were glass. I bought the Stanley so as not to worry about breakage. Used mine over 20 years, it's the vintage model. I've had to replace the O-rings in the stopper. We have coffee at work, so I use it occasionally now. It only needs to keep coffee hot for an hour, maybe two after I get to work. For me, other thermoses are just a fashion statement.

I got a 1976 model, wide mouth. Still works fine.
