100% my thoughts. I can't recall ever sitting down and adding up what they cost. The wife and I just made it work out they best way we could. I never really thought of my kids as expenses etc.

Yikes! That's after tax dollars so it's chewing up $50-something-K in earnings every year! You might want to stop at two unless they offer a team discount.

I have two and I don't know. All I know is they graduated from college, the last one in 2021, and we are finally starting to see the bank account grow. So I'd say they cost a lot.

Haven’t thought about it too much. He’s a little over 1 and it it what it is. We’ll cut back on some things or take longer to save for them, but he’s worth it. It will be time for another soon, really just do our best to help them succeed and be good people.

    Same way we approached it.

Wow, I'm guessing you both make a pretty good income, because at some point you have to assess whether it's worth it. My wife would have to take home around 6k per month to justify spending that much on daycare. At some point it's just not worth it and in my opinion a stay at home mom is worth it's weight in gold until they are in school. Lot of variables, I know some wives are career driven and not cut out to do the stay at home deal and I respect that too.

But boat loans, truck loans, and homes are the issue....

Let's not talk about the 50/50 divorce rate with 80% of them being initiated by women...
This feels very true to me!

You didn’t keep a spreadsheet on your kids to see where all your money went each month?

Put 3 girls thru private primary school and private college so I
think I got a little more than the average in them. Can’t complain
as they have turned into fine young ladies. All graduated with
good degrees and have good jobs. You only get one shot at raising
them so put all you got into it.

that has to be some fancy daycare then. $37,000 is more than like 1/3 of our yearly income before taxes… The most expensive we looked into was $1,200 a month at a church. We decided on a daycare that’s $600 a month where nearly all the teachers at my wife’s school brings their kids to. Even $600 we were second guessing how we could afford it.
