Don when checking the mercury 4s for full throttle does it have to be on the water with computer or not? I’ve had mine checked but heard it has to be with running on water. Just didn’t seen rite. Thanks

No it does not need to be on the water. I am not Don-but have watched it set on my motor a couple of times at my dealer. If the adjustment were to change there would have to be a problem with the boat rigging

Demand LINEAR can be verified while sitting (stationary) on the trailer.

It is BEST, however, to run engine on the water with G3 Diagnostic System when initially choosing propeller for a particular setup. Not required just to verify that throttle is reaching 100% Demand LINEAR, however.
