Will Humminbird helix 9 link with helix 7 g2n

I just purchased a used helix 9 from a friend, possibly a gen 1, I’m not sure, to hopefully link with a helix 7 g2n.
The 7 is at the helm for mapping and I’m wondering if it will link via Ethernet cable to the possible older 9 at the front of the boat.

all I’m using them for is mapping. With an Ethernet cable, will they transfer waypoints?

All Helix 8, 9, 10, 12, and 15's have an Ethernet port.
To connect an Ethernet cable to a Helix requires the AS EC QDE Ethernet Adapter and then an Ethernet cable between them.

Waypoints are shared visibly, not physically==no transfer, just displayed on other units in a different color.

I have a gen 1 helix 9 at console & a helix 7 g2n at bow for marking & viewing waypoints & 2d ethernetted like Wayne said & it works great.
