Can you upgrade an ecu for an older motor like this. What advantages does this provide and what is a ballpark cost? I never run my boat wide open. I made open it up a couple time a year when I have flat conditions but it for a short period of time like a minute at most. I am looking for a boost in fuel economy though. Has anyone done this to a motor this old?
What engine? I put a 250 ecu on my 225 ox66 that has a built 250 powerhead and it made no difference that I could tell. Exactly as HT said. Basically no difference. Cj

forgot to mention Yamaha ox66 225hp. I am talking about sending the ecu out and getting it worked on. Curious about cost and over all performance when you get it back.
Don't waste your money. Put a set of heads on it. In fact if you are in the area I will let you have a set of 250 heads cheap. They will give you a decent boost over the 225 heads, This is just what I remember HT saying. Can't give you any ###'s. CJ
