I'm looking at 08 225 Optimax with approximately 5xx hours. Lots of maintenance has been performed on it ( with receipts ).
I can buy it for $5,000 but it doesn't come with controls, wiring harness or prop. I currently have a 1997 Evinrude 225 vindicator on the boat ( 1997 Triton TR21) .
My question is, do you all think this a good, bad, ok deal or no? Current owner is repowering is the reason it's for sale.

i sold my 250XS last summer for more than twice that with 785 hrs have it checked thoroughly by a reputable shop , sounds like a good deal to me, those were pretty strong engines

2009 225 Po XS. If someone offered me $5,000 for my motor, I wouldn't even let them look at it.
