I have been told it is best to turn your unit off every time you take the transducer out of the water such as on a trolling motor. Is there a shortcut to turn on my unit when I lower the unit back in the water? I’m having to hit accept and go through that cycle?

Here's one way to do it [menu>more options>stop sonar]; at 7:00 minute

As tj said, no need to turn the unit off, but you do need to stop sonar. Menu-More options-Stop sonar.
