2011 Merc 150 Pro XS Optimax Shutdown Yesterday SN 1B887622

Was on my buddy's boat yesterday when we got consistent 4 alarm beeps every 2 minutes most of the day. In a tourney so we idled everywhere. We did try and run one last time and the boat basically shut down and went into Guardian mode but never a continuous beep. Coming off the lake we checked both oil reservoir's and they were fine. Under cowling tank totally full.

What could be causing the alarm and shutdown? In manual another 4 alarm beep could be water in the fuel/ water separator. Not sure what that entails and a potential fix.

Any thoughts on what could be going on. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Can be many things, best course of action would be to have the codes read to eliminate guessing.

Thanks guys will pass on the info. Where do you plug the code reader in? I assume it's under the cowling. Thanks.

Depends on what "Suitable Diagnostic System" you are using.

Mercury G3 connects to the 10-pin Can-Circuit plug.

Most others connect to a 4-pin Diagnostic Port.
