Guide services question

I'm looking to book a guide trip or two on the White River in Arkansas below Bull Shoals and maybe Norfolk. Trout and Walleye. I have done the guide thing before below Table Rock but looking at a different section of the river for this trip. I see some services that seem to have a stable of guides to offer.

My question - are some of these "guide services" just a fancy website and a referral service to the individual guides for a referral fee? All the reviews I read on Face Book and elsewhere the reviews say they are the best! Hard to really decide on one.

In my experience when you get in a fishery such as that, and I’ve fished the White with a guide, there’s a guy that owns the “outfit” and has a few guides that are either employees or subcontractors. When they’re booked they will bring in outside contractor guides to fill the gaps.

If you can find those contractor guides you might be able to get a reduced rate, maybe not.
