I don't remember Walmart not being open till 9, 7 days a week for the last 45 years of so. Ours went 24/7 maybe 20 years ago till Covid. I loved the 24 part, I worked a 3-11pm on my first day back to work and I did all my holiday shopping after that shift with little traffic in store.

For the sake of their run down, overworked and underpaid employees I hope not.

All of ours quit operating 24hrs during covid. Now, they are closed 11:00pm-6:00am. Probably never see them at 24hrs. again.

No. People figured out their worth and no longer are willing to work for shit wages subsidized by government welfare benefits which Walmart is famous for exploiting.

People are more than willing to work, if you pay them what they are worth.

I think the one closest to me is open until midnight. I wish they were open 24/7
I hardly go there anymore but used to go very late at night.

I have nothing against WM. I have worked in retail for 6 of the last 8 years and most places are scraping the bottom of the barrel for help. The stuff we tolerate at a meat counter to keep it staffed is ridiculous. Most of the good help is referred to the job by a worker.

Anyone remember when Wal-Mart used to pride themselves on selling American made goods? Sam is probably rolling over in his grave at what his children have do to his company.

this is my thought as well. People “think” they’re worth 30k a year to make coffee for a living or to flip burgers.

at my company we are having entry level engineers turn down $28/hr starting salary because they think they should be paid much higher. I had one kid complain to me that he wasn’t in charge of projects or making 90k a year because that’s what he thought he was worth with only 6months of experience all because he has a bachelors degree and passed the FE.. newly licensed Professional Engineers at my company don’t even make 90k with 4-6years of experience.

but there’s some truth in what he’s saying too. My wife is a certified teachers assistant with 7 years in the district and gets paid less than $24k a year. She does more work than the teachers she works under, acts as a sub whenever needed and still is paid less than a sub. It’s to where they have 6 TA openings they can’t fill because everyone quits after seeing how much work and how little pay the job is. They can make more working part time at Walmart.
