    Nothing on the river walk!!

Clear Springs (the original location in New Braunfels is better)
    Rabel’s Roadhouse (New Berlin)
    Adobe Cafe (New Braunfels)
    Burnt Bean (Seguin)
    Gristmill (Gruene)
Rudys BBQ is pretty dang good for a chain.
find any breakfast taco place and pick some stuff you’ve never heard of. (carne Guisada, picadillo, barbacoa, etc)

honestly the better places to eat are on the outskirts

    Clear springs in New Braunfels
Gruene River Grill in New Braunfels
    Tycoon Flats in San Antonio
The Barbecue Station in San Antonio
Boudro’s on the Riverwalk - chicken fried ribeye is fantastic
McAdoo’s Seafood Company in New Braunfels
    Alpine Haus in New Braunfels
    Krause’s Cafe in New Braunfels
Freiheit Country Store in New Braunfels
Tipsy Cow in New Braunfels (adult ice cream)

Those are all off the top of my head and places we frequented from 2016-2022. If you have a particular cuisine in mind, I can most likely come up with a few more.

Looks like I should definitely go to New Braunfels. Is that still considered San Antonio?

Longhorn cafe has better burgers than Chester’s, although Chester’s is ok.

We used to love stopping at Mamacita's Mexican restaurant in New Braunfels when we were in the area. Kinda bummed that it closed down.

I haven't been impressed with San Antonio fare in my trips there. The River Walk has a ton of atmosphere but the restaurants we went to were just ok.
