    Power Pole Charge Problems/Reliability

I've heard some having problems with the reliability of the Power Pole Charge. What have you guys seen? Do they hold up?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

Got it in July 2021. In aug 2021 it failed and was constantly faulting out not working. I call customer service. They sent me a new one and I returned my failed one in 2 days. My replacement from Aug 2021 has been flawless since. It seems when the charge works it’s awesome and honestly I am not going to get a new charge when I order another boat. I will remove this one and bring it with me to my next boat as this one seems to be reliable. I run lithium batteries as well and it charges my relion/ ionic setup to 100%.

Had mine for about 18 months now. No issues and all 3 of my lithium TM batts (Battle Born if you care) have always been fully charged. The app for Android is pretty basic as far as monitoring goes so I installed a Victron Smart Shunt and the Victron app to monitor all my batteries. This winter I've been running around enough on the big motor that I really don't need to plug the charger in when I get home.

Almost 3 years and has been flawless for me except for a user issue which PowerPole took care of immediately.

How does the Smart Shunt work with 3 batteries in series?

It gets setup as a 36V battery and the app reports accordingly. If you want to fully monitor each of the 3 batteries you need 3 Smart Shunts. There is an AUX port in the shunt that will report back just the voltage. I use the AUX port on my cranking battery.

Going on my 3rd year now and the only issue I had was last winter when the trolling motor lithium batteries wouldn't balance while in storage. A firmware update took care of that and has been running perfect ever since.
