Pole mounting... strait up/parallel vs angled

So, I've seen both methods recommended... setting them "two fingers" from your motor at lock to lock, which results in them being angled inwards, and thus also gives a wider stance when deployed, vs just setting them strait up and level, which brings the footprint in a bit when deployed.

It may not really matter I suppose, but figured I'd ask if anyone has pros or cons on one method vs the other?

I leveled mine. For no other reason except it looks better.

I had the same question. I leveled mine because I liked the look. Also it seemed to me that when angled they would be anchoring crooked. I’m thinking this might cause uneven stress and wear on the parts.

Yeah I am "angled", ie 2 inches from motor at lock on each side, which angles them inwards - but am considering moving to level. For one yes it definitely looks nicer, and I can't imagince the different in spread "at anchor" would be more than a few inches, maybe a foot at most. Not sure about stress, but it could be valid concern as well I suppose.

Please level them . There Is really zero benefit to the slightly angled as far as wider stance/ better hold. It also looks like someone who didn't know what they were doing installed the poles. Nothing worse then when you drive down the road and see "cocked" poles.
