When I cut the well out for my trolling motor pedal it was 1/2 of solid fiberglass. My boat is an 08 though. Can't imagine yours is any different.Originally Posted by OldBassMan

Looks like mine is plywood encased in fiberglass. I have some soft spots near the bow. Looks like a project for next winter.
Would have thought ranger would have been over plywood by 2000????

On my 2000 518 and my 2002 520,the front deck is 5/8”,5 ply marine grade plywood. Encased in fiberglass but it’s a thin layer of glass,it also has gel on top of the glass,not raw glass.
