I used a light coating of Lucas marine grease on the bearing. There is no mention of what type of grease to use in the operational manual.

Any idea how to replace this bearing? Do you have to take it apart from the upper end? Lower end?

I’m not sure how to replace it but I would imagine you would have to remove the head assembly to get to it. I wouldn’t think you would have to remove the lower unit from the shaft to replace the bearing but I could be wrong.
