    Ethernet switch

I’m adding Mega 360 and an additional Helix. This will make 4 Helix units and an Ultrex. I understand that I have to add an additional Ethernet switch that piggy backs to the existing Ethernet switch. My question is there a specific port designated for the piggyback, and is there a specific cable hat I need for the piggyback? TIA

No and No. The shortest Ethernet cable is 5'==AS EC 5E.

I have a 15' Ethernet cable between the two Ethernet Switches I have since one is at the console and the other is at the bow.

Thank you for your help. Another question: when adding an external compass for the 360, does the compass need to be mounted in close proximity to the 360? (Bow)

For a Helix, yes since you cannot subscribe to Heading separate from GPS.

    Two more questions?
The 360 installation instructions they say to add a battery switch. Are they talking about a main breaker or are they talking about an added toggle or rocker switch so the 360 can be shut off and keep everything else running?
I’m thinking of doing this even though I already have a main breaker.
Can the drain wire go to the same terminal block as the ground wire? Thank you!

The MEGA 360 uses power whether or not it is doing 360 or SI. It has a wet switch that senses it is submerged.
It needs a power disconnect switch somewhere== main or individual.
I have my MEGA 360 switch at the bow connected to the bow fuse panel and the MEGA 360 power cord, sometimes I don't use the MEGA 360 but I have other devices connected to that fuse panel.

The drain wire should connect to the battery's negative ANYWHERE. The easiest is to the same place the power cord negative is connected.

So you have 4 Helix, 1 M360 and Ultrex. What Ultrex is it, US2, built in MDI, or Link? Curious as to why you need 2 switches?

I am adding 2 Helix and M360 to Ultrex MDI, and thought I could use Y cable to connnect Ultrex 2D/MDI to 360 and use 1 switch??

4 displays, iPilot LINK, MEGA LIVE Target Lock= 6 Ethernet connections.

MEGA 360, Ultrex transducer (any of them) are not Ethernet devices, they connect to a display's Transducer port.
