    NRX+ 842s vs 852s

Looking for some advice/recommendations. Going to be purchasing a new general purpose spinning rod and trying to decide between the NRX+ 842s and 852s. I have not tried either version in NRX+ but I did try out an 852S in the previous version and went with an 872. Anyone that has both or used both have any thoughts to share on why or for what techniques you prefer one over the other? Thanks?

I have the 852 and the 872. I just ordered the 842 in hopes that the fast action will be more tip friendly for drop shot.

The 852S + is a very good all around spinning rod

Just got my hands on the 842S. My first impressions of this rod is that it is the 822S Drop Shot Rod on steroids. It is softer or fast in the tip but good back bone.

Can't wait to get it out on the water.

They are both great rods , however I think that the 852 is more versatile... as said above 842 has a bit softer tip ... I use mine for open water wacky rigged senkos ... 852 for docks and grass

Thanks for the follow up reply! This is what I was looking to hear. I’ve used the 822DSR for many years and just a little more power is what I was hoping for.
