    Question Eliminate trolling motor plug

I have an older boat with the 12/24 wiring for the trolling motor and I have replaced both male and female plugs numerous times and still have to twist the the connection 10 times a day to get the power back on. Is there a way to eliminate the plug and just wire it directly. 4 wires coming out of the boat and 2 wires from the trolling motor. I was hoping somebody made a reliable connector for this issue.

My ranger is wired direct with something like what is pictured below. Without taking it apart I really don't know exactly what it is. Someone will come along with the exact thing to use.

I just did this to a older Stratos 201 pro.
I installed new to TM wire from the batteries to the bow.
Old wires had a bad spot in them some where.
Cut old plug and 12/24 stuff out.
Bought a new Minn kota Plug and receptacle from board here on the cheap.
Install the second block troll terminal above to both wires at the bow.
And added a higher amp breaker at the back wires from Minn kota.
Let's amp pull on batteries and wires.
Should have done it years ago.

Makes for a clean, high quality installation. Takes up very little room.

O.K. I have an older Stratos with the 12/24-4 wire system. I did have a problem with it 10 years ago when a screw loosened in the male plug. Other than that, 10+ years no issues once I tightened all the screws in the plug. I believe it's all in the care of the system. I average at least once a week fishing, I'm retired.

Switched breaker in back on positive battery lead and direct wire from there. I hate having a plug up front. I switch the breaker on during launch prep and switch off before leaving the ramp to go home. Works great!

This connector is the deal. I am not a fan of direct wiring my trolling motor. If there is ever an issue, it is a pain to get the trolling motor off.

I send one of these connectors to Phoenix each year when I order my boat.

A good set of twist on wire nuts and some black tape.

    my 36v Force is hardwired.
Never had a single issue with it.
I took 2 ring terminals soldered them to the wires, took a stainless steel bolt and lock nut and bolted the rings together. Then took heat shrink tubing and put over the whole thing 2 times.
