Going look at a 2018 rig that is for sale with 134 hours on it. Anything particular I should look for or at? Engine has warranty until 2028 which is comforting. Never owned an etec before so any insight would be helpful.

If the boat is a 2018, then it's likely that the motor is a G2. Evinrude dispenced with model years in 2012, maybe. Not sure. But I know G2 motors were introduced in 2015 and they don't use model year designations.
Get the model and serial numbers on the motor and then go to etecownersgroup.com and ask someone to look up the service record.

great engine BUT I would call around to the local dealerships and see if they will work on it and honor the warranty also.

Yeah, not so sure how much faith I’d have in the warranty. I’ve been waiting for an EMM from BRP since June. Boat has just been sitting at the dealer. Warranty or not, if you can’t get parts then you can’t get parts!
Get in contact With Stone And Sons Marine out of Houston, one of the first original Dealers of Evinrude from way back in the day, they have parts for literally everything

I have ETEC G2, 2019 (got it in July 2018) has les than 100 hrs on it. It's been in the shop more than on the water. Currently sitting at dealer since July 16, 2022! No parts! And no help from BRP..
I regret buying this engine... knowing what I know today back than... I wouldn't have bought one.
