    oil pump for 225 0pti

    I have a 2005 225 optimax serial # 1B028125, is there anyway to see if pump is running without starting the engine? Had it out last week and check engine light and oil alarm was sounding. Don't want to start it if not gettint oil. thanks ps both oil tanks are full.

    Need to get engine on the G3 Diagnostic System (or other scan tool) to see what fault is occurring. PCM doesn't monitor pump function- only monitors the electrical circuit for opens or short circuits.

    Could also be oil LEVEL.
