Problem with trim not staying up.

    V-8 Mercury pro xs 250 serial # 2B740019.

My trim works and sounds perfect when using. But after I trim it up the motor will slowly lower all the way down after 10 minutes or so. I checked the relief screw on the side and it was tight. Anyone else had this problem? If so, was yours fixed under warranty? Thanks in advance.

You need to get this in immediately, as your engine's Factory Warranty will expire in just a few days.

Platinum Product Protection does not cover seals, o-rings or plastic components (if it's due to a DEFECT in materials or workmanship- it SHOULD however be covered as long as the failure is recorded by a dealer before the end of Factory Warranty).

Got it in today and the dealer said he got it wrote up today to make sure it’s covered.

Just an update for anyone else who may have this issue. Mercury is sending them a seal kit to try and if that doesn’t work they recommend replacing the trim unit. Apparently the trim unit is on backorder until March.

Reasonably high odds that the check valves and/or manual relief will resolve it.

Same issue with my V8 Pro XS 200 (2019). Noticed it last year, but ended up barely fishing and then when replacing the lower unit fluid yesterday as prep for this season, it did it. I checked the fluid level too just in case and looks fine. Called the shop I got it from and will be making the 2 hour drive some time this week to drop it off.
