Thumbs Up Review of Dura Deck Marine

I’m sharing a few pics of the superb job that Dura-Deck Marine did on my boat with replacing the carpet on my ‘18 Lynx with their product. They actually found a way to wrap the lids with their product that helps close the gap between the lids. For those who are curious for how much it cost with material and labor, I believe it’s equivalent to buying new Power Pole blades. Anyway, for those with a Lynx, they do now have a template for the cockpit area.

    Looks great.
I'm interested in how well it cleans up after some fish goo and blood gets walked into it after a day of fishing.

Looks great! I have the same boat and was considering doing the cockpit floor area. How does it feel compared to Sea Dek?

Well, they should have a digital copy of the cockpit area now.

As for the feel, I haven't compared it to the Sea Deck material. The material is firm but does have some give to it. I believe their material is only 6mm thick, but it does feel more comfortable compared then some of the padded front decks that I've fished from.

Same here, especially if I spill some Spike it on it.

That looks dang good. Glad someone figured out how to wrap the edges, that's what has discouraged me from doing this, the gaps between lids. Noticed you mentioned labor, is this something they have to do, or is it possible for a customer to install?

You might be able to do it yourself, but you'd need to talk to Russ about it. I'm not sure if they are comfortable doing each lid similar to how they do their cockpit pads by sending templates back and forth until they fit right. Plus, you also need to remove all of the old glue to ensure the material sticks correctly, unlike using carpet glue when you can get away with leaving the old glue residue on the lids.

Personally, from having been involved with re-carpeting 3 boats and receiving quotes from places out in town to re-carpet a boat or to even get Sea Deck installed, this was the best option for me. Even though going with Sea Deck from a local dealer was a few hundres dollars cheaper, but it still required me to strip the decks/lids myself, reinstall the lids so they laser scan it, and then remove the lids to finish removing the glue & paint the edges before laying down the Sea Deck. At the end of the day, it was a no brainer for me to drive 4.5 hours to NC and let Dura Deck Marine do the work correctly. They did a superb job on my boat.
