Homemade Crankbaits Painting

I am watching videos on making crankbaits our of balsa wood. Every time i see a video they airbrush the lure. Is it possible to heat the wood with a heat gun, apply powder paint, then bake the lure for a harder painted finish, or would the bill melt?

I don’t think it’s possible. The heat you need to get the powder to stick would catch your wood on fire.

The sealer and everything required to be used on the balsa to make it ready for water you wouldn't want to heat that much.
