    Thru hull compatibility

Long shot here, but figured I would see just in case. Currently dont have any hummingbird graphs, but still have the stock in hull ducer (xp-9-20-t). I have lowrance and garmin graphs but it does not seem that I will have any luck connecting it to those units. Was curious if anyone knows of one those simplistic "depth sounders" that are commonly found on pleasure boats, that would be compatible with this humminbird transducer? It would be nice to have depth while running but not a necessity for me.

This is what I am referring to, but difficult to find specifications on it through humminbird

    The XP 9 20 T is a shoot-thru 83/200 kHz 2D-only transducer.
The cheapest current model display for it would be this one and change the connected transducer setting to 83/200 kHz.
Its default frequency is High Wide CHIRP.

An older unit of the same model would work also.

This is the manual for the HDR650 and it shows it uses 200 kHz and a XNT 9 28 transducer.

    XNT 9 28 T - 200/455 Transom Single/DualBeam Transducer | Humminbird (johnsonoutdoors.com)

The transducer plug looks the same as the ones for a Helix so what you have should connect OK, just would have a smaller sonar cone than the 9 28=== 20 degrees rather than 28 degrees.

Thanks for the feedback, I talked with humminbird and they simply told me that the depth sounder requires the specified xnt-9-28-t it comes with, but was hoping that it would be compatible because of the plug on my in-hull transducer. I really like the size of the depth sounder, and can install it easily. It would accomplish the simple task of high speed depth perfectly for me. Thanks

Forgot to include a link to the manual that shows the included transducer model:
