    Hydraulic Steering Question

    My cylinder is leaking a little so I was looking into rebuilding it. It is a HC5342 which is a slide mount. Might be a dumb question but what/why requires it to be a slide mount? Is it the engine (2004 Evinrude 225 HO) or the boat (2004 Ranger 521VX)? It doesn't really matter just curiosity getting the best of me.

    From what I can tell is the HC5342 attach point is slotted (slide mount) and the HC5345 is a single hole for mounting. Don't believe the internals are any different.
