I just recently picked up a 2010 Nitro Z7 in like new condition with only 28 hours on it. I’m going to do a few upgrades on it and would like to share what I plan on doing to it. Here is some pictures of how it’s setup currently.

Only 28 hours is remarkable. I’ve got a Z7 that I bought 6 years ago and has been a really good boat for the money. Done a few upgrades myself with new wheels, trolling motor power pole blades and all carbon units.
Enjoy!
Thank you. Yes, the boat has remarkably low hours. The original owner had purchased it new and had health issues not long after that and was unable to drive the boat. The times he did use it he had to have someone else drive it for him. He unfortunately never got better and he passed away. His wife didn’t want to sell the boat because it was his baby and she kept it stored in her garage for 8 years and never used it. I also have receipts from every year where she had it serviced and winterized even when it was never used. I’m very lucky to have found this boat in near new condition and in the town where I live.

Before putting a dime into it, I would check for a hooked hull. Personally 28 hours in 13 years scares the crap out of me. Bad fuel, fuel lines, motor gaskets/seals, gummed injectors, water pump, tires and possible critter damage and who knows what else. Gwt it to a good mechanic to check everything before running it. Then, run it a bit before upgrading it.

I thought the same thing before I went to look at it. I was worried about all the same issues but none are a factor here.
I purchased this boat from the second owner who owned it since last March and only took it out twice last summer. He was a personal friend of the original owner and I know him pretty well. I was able to test drive it before we got hard water here and everything is good to go. Plus, for 1/4 of the cost of a new boat I was able to get a boat in almost new condition. I paid half of what a similar boat in half as good condition is currently selling for nowadays.

With 28 hours on it I doubt its been towed much, my concern with the age is the leaf spring. Might want to upgrade to multi leaves spring to ease with noise and a smoother, Quieter ride.
Cleaannn! Congrats!

Sounds like a great deal! IIRC, 2010s were rated for 200HP motors. Enjoy it!!!

Man what a great deal. I'm in around 580 hours on my 2010 Z7. Has the 200 optimax on it.
I've got a 106SV at the console and a 106SV on the bow with a 93SV next to it for mapping. Starboard locker fits all the network stuff nicely (GMS10, livescope, steadycast). Lithium batteries in the rear really woke up the weight distribution.
Enjoy it. They are great hulls all things considered. Wide deck but can get into some tight spaces. Tow nicely.

Mines a 2010 with a 200, added lots to it to get it right but it’s cheaper than a new 80k boat.
200 hp motor would be my first upgrade, you can sell the 150 afterwards to offset the cost.
