    Cinder block stake beds

Going to put a few beds out today that i have concreted tobacco sticks into cinder blocks. They will be put out on a winter draw down lake & there will not be any other cover around them. They will likely only be fishable from late fall until the water rises again in the spring because of placement on a lake that gets drawn a lot. I'm putting them on deeper flats close to creek channels so they should be a natural stopping point for crappie. They will be about 15 feet deep & close to river channel in winter & 45 or so when at full pool so don't figure on fish using them as much then because of natural cover in the water when the lakes up to normal. Do you guys that do this think they'll work good?

Here in east Tx the crappie hang around the river break but water is around 26-28 ft on the edge and the shad hang in the channel. In the summer most fish are caught in 15-18 ft on brush piles. In the winter the water temp. is around 45 to 48°

I actually had fish on some of them within hours. Surprised me but did.
