It's a 94' model. Last year of production.

Since hanging the G2, it now officially hauls the mail. It doesn't get much rest these days.
I bet it does haul the mail! Had a 200 on my 201 and always dreamed for a 225 or 250. Now I have a boat that'll run in the low 70s, my advanced years tell me 55-60 is plenty fast any more

On Lake Mead not long ago. A rare calm day... perfect for letting it rip!

2006 196. 200 Optimax. Dual console. Original seats, carpet still looks damn good. No rips/tears and carpet is not smashed down/worn. Picked it up last March from original owner. Wasn't used much. I've had a couple of 196's in the past. Finally found this one after owning several other brands. Glad I'm back in a Champion.

2001 187 DC, 175 yamaha...It runs ok. It looks like it's been fished from, not a show boat.

I like white boats but for me a white boat would either be immaculate or a pig pin, no middle ground. The glitter flake kinda hides some of the procrastination of keeping the boat totally detailed all the time.

It has only been a very few times since I've owned it that I had an outing and I haven't gotten complimented on the boat.

With that said , I like this boat and it is in good condition but not excellent. When people compliment it I usually have the thought of " Dont look at it too close " LOL. It has a few ouchies here and there and it is what it is. Kinda bothers me as I would like to have an excellent pristine hull.

I know a guy who has a bit older 193 I believe and it blows me away. That boat looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. How do you folks look/view your champ ? Does it appear to you as super sweet or just OK since it has a few defects here and there ?

BTW : Where is Pat ?

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all the Champ family. You all have been incredibly valuable to me over the years of my Champ ownership. This is my third Champ and I'll keep until I can' manage it.

Maybe because the older one is a Mt. Home boat... Just me

yeah I needed to vacuum up the garage floor so I had to move it. Will start moving it more regularly in a couple months. Need to invest in some newer electronics but have not found the excuse. Something needs to quit working first. We still have to make a fishing trip this spring. You come down for a couple days of just fishing!

I lucked out. Knew nothing about Champion before buying mine. I grew up with a father who owned an aluminum 16 foot row boat. Fished small shallow lakes in my area. One day fishing with him, as a young boy, I saw a big shinny glittery bass boat. I immediately fell in love with that look. As I made it into young adulthood, I always had a bass boat in my thoughts. Well, marriage, house purchase, and three kids, made for quite a financial struggle. So, when I was in my late 30's, and finally getting a little bot ahead on my financial status, I promised myself I would own a bass boat by my 40th birthday.

A really good friend of mine knew a guy, who knew a guy who had a Champion for sale. He insisted, Champion was a very good boat. So, I bought my 1993 190 wothout knowing anything about Champion. It also had a "hot" 150 Evinrude Intruder. I also knew nothing about that hot motor..

Bottom line, it's still an amazing rig today. Other than adding a jackplate, trolling motor, and a few very basic electronics, it's still all stock. I have thought numerous times about upgrading and getting myself into something newer and bigger, but I just can't seem to spend money on something else when I know I simply love what I got. Especially with the price of these rigs. know a lot of people buy, but may not love the color. However, I simple love my "American" red, white, and blue color scheme. She still gets a ton of compliments from others that can't believe she's 30 years old this year.

Just bought my first Champion. It's a 2003 196 Elite. The current motor is a 2003 Evinrude 225HO with the wrong cowling on it. I've got a 2009 Evinrude 200HO Etec that's going on it.

I have an '01 196 with a 200 Optimax. I've done a bunch to her in the last 2-3 years. Started with the trailer...new lights, bunks, jack, rollers etc. Went down to bare metal and used POR15 everywhere. Then put bed liner over all that. New tires, wheels, brakes, rotors and such. LED lights and backup lights added. New chains, rewired everything, etc.

Then started on the boat. New carpet and padding everywhere. That was a job but it turned out real well. New Garmins, Force TM and Livescope. New wiring, buss system, breakers, everything. New pumps, lines, etc. Only thing I didn't change was the seats, which are likely next. Still love this boat after having her for 21 years!
